It all started when...
Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, Gabrielle Joffie always had a passion for education. At the age of 11, she would spend her Saturdays and Summers at the Fieldston Enrichment Program, a program for gifted students. She would travel two hours daily to Isaac Newton, a Junior High School that specialized in math & science. This school was in Spanish Harlem. This is when Gabrielle began her studies in the Spanish language.
In the eighth grade, Gabrielle applied for a program called A Better Chance. This organization pairs talented inner city youth into prestigious boarding/ day schools. She was accepted into this program and was later on accepted into Mercersburg Academy for high school.
Leaving home at 12, going on 13, was tough for Gabrielle but she knew that this High School would afford her great opportunities in the future. Mercersburg opened her eyes to different cultures and activities. She played volleyball, squash, & lacrosse and was on varsity all 4 years for squash & lacrosse and went on to play collegiate lacrosse at Dickinson College.
Gabrielle Joffie is a marketing creative with a concentration in beauty, fashion & lifestyle. Currently the Global Marketing Manager for Indique Hair. Gabrielle holds an MS in Fashion Design from Drexel University, a BA in Economics and a minor in Spanish from Dickinson College, and a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University.
